基本解釋

1412年進入英語，直接源自古法語的instruction；最初源自拉丁語的instructionem：in (上面） + struere (堆起，建造），意為在……基礎上建造。

instruction的基本意思是“命令,指示”,多用復數(shù)形式,常可接動詞不定式或that從句作定語或同位語。
instruction也可作“講授,指導,教學”解,是不可數(shù)名詞,其后常與介詞in搭配使用。
instruction后接的that從句中往往要用現(xiàn)在時。
復數(shù)名詞instructions表示“操作指南,用法說明”,只與復數(shù)動詞或代詞連用。其后常接由介詞on, for或about引起的短語。
instruction在表示“教學”時常用單數(shù)形式。He gives her regular instruction in mathematics. 他常定期教她數(shù)學。
instruction在表示“指令，指示”時，常用復數(shù)形式。We have not yet received instructions from the authorities. 我們還沒有收到當局的指令。
instructions后可接不定式。We have received instructions to resume the work. 我們接到指示說要在繼續(xù)工作。
instructions后偶爾可接that從句，但句中一般用shall，should或虛擬現(xiàn)在式。We have received instructions that we (shall/should) meet twice a month. 我們接到指示說一個月至少要開兩次會議。
