常用用法

noise的基本意思是“噪聲”“喧鬧聲”,指刺耳、尖銳的聲音,有時(shí)是混合的或多種聲音夾雜在一起,含有使人不愉快之義。noise作“喧鬧聲”講一般只用其單數(shù)形式。在表示各種不同的聲音時(shí)可用noises。
noise也可泛指一般“聲音”,既可用作可數(shù)名詞,也可用作不可數(shù)名詞。

這組詞都有“喧鬧聲”的意思。其區(qū)別在于：
1.noise指刺耳、尖銳的聲音,有時(shí)是混合的或多種聲音夾雜在一起,含有使人不愉快之義。例如:
The young men were making such a noise in the restaurant that the police came and ejected them.那些年輕人在餐館又吵又鬧,因此警察來把他們趕走了。
2.sound為普通用語,可指各種強(qiáng)弱、高低不等的聲音。例如:
The sounds failed away.聲音漸漸消失了。
The sound of music drifted up to us.音樂聲向我們悠悠飄來。
Turning the knob of a radio one can fade the volume of sound in or out.旋轉(zhuǎn)收音機(jī)的旋鈕,你就能使音量漸漸增大或減弱。
The room echoed with the sound of music.音樂聲在房間中回響。
3.din表示一種響亮不斷的噪聲,強(qiáng)調(diào)對耳朵有強(qiáng)烈的刺激。例如:
The din of the machines gave me a headache.機(jī)器噪聲使我頭痛。
They were unable to sleep because of the din coming from the bar.酒吧里傳來的喧鬧聲吵得他們不能入睡。
4.clamour主要指人由于激動(dòng)、興奮、憤怒而連續(xù)高聲呼喊。例如:
They used to make a clamour about trifles.他們過去常常為小事大吵大鬧。
The clamour of voices from the living room seemed louder than ever.從起居室傳來的吵鬧聲似乎比任何時(shí)候都大。
