qualify的基本意思是“(使)有資格”,指通過宣誓、作保、遵照必要形式或條件而獲得合法或適當(dāng)?shù)臋?quán)力,還可指取得或具備某一職業(yè)的合格條件。引申可作“限制”“修飾”解。
qualify可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時可接名詞或代詞作賓語,意為“使某人有資格做某事”。
