thread的基本意思是將一根線穿進針眼中,指在比較狹窄或擁擠的地方穿梭(如在人群中擠過去),即“穿線,穿過”,常與介詞into, on, through等連用。
thread一般用作及物動詞,接名詞或代詞作賓語,偶爾也可接雙賓語,其間接賓語可以轉化爲介詞for的賓語。
thread泛指統(tǒng)指爲“線”，而thread指“一根線”，複數(shù)形式threads指“多根線”。
