answer和reply的用法區(qū)別

1. answer是常用詞，可指口頭、筆頭，甚至行動回答，有時可與reply通用。如：

Who can answer the question?

Please answer the telephone.

2. reply較answer正式，既可指用語言、書面作答，也可指用動作或手勢作答，常用于正式場合或書面語中，指經(jīng)過慎重考慮作出的答復。如：

I sent in my application，and the school replied immediately.

I don't know what to reply.

注意：

在表示回答問題時，answer后直接跟question；reply后要加介詞to。試比較：

answer the question回答問題；reply to the question回答問題。
