一般入學程序都要交學費及填不少申請表格，例如學生證、申請宿舍等。我跟朋友說：“I waited in the student affairs office in a crowded condition．”但同學Gloria則指我說錯了，“condition”一字應用復數(shù)“conditions”。因為形容某人的狀況時，我們可以用單數(shù)“condition”形容，例如指某人的健康或身體狀況。但當形容圍繞某人身邊的情況的時候，應該用復數(shù)“conditions”，全句應改為“I waited in the student affairs office in crowded conditions．”簡單地說，就是“condition”與內(nèi)在情況有關，而“conditions”則與外在情況有關。
