-ion來源于拉丁語，只能加綴在拉丁動詞詞干或拉丁借詞上，構(gòu)成相應(yīng)的名詞，其意思相當(dāng)于the act or process of ～,the result of ～ing,the condition of being ～ed,a thing that ～s等，即表示某一動作過程、結(jié)果與狀態(tài)，以及與該行為有關(guān)的事物。由于拉丁構(gòu)詞規(guī)律的影響，-ion有-ation,-ition,-ution等異體，但它們的用法與意義與-ion并無區(qū)別。

1.attraction [attract v.吸引;-ion →]
n.吸引；吸引力
舉例：The attraction of the bright headlight made the deer stop in the road. 明亮的汽車前燈光吸引得那只鹿停在公路中間。
Sports have great attraction for most boys. 運動對多數(shù)男孩子有很大的吸引力。

2.calculation [calcul 計算；-ation ]
n.計算；計算結(jié)果
舉例：Our first calculation was wrong,but the second was correct. 我們第一次得數(shù)是錯誤的，第二次是對的。

3.collection [collect 收集；-ion →“收集的結(jié)果”→]
n.收集物，收藏品
舉例：Our library has a large collection of books. 我們的圖書館藏書量很大。

4.fascination
n.迷戀，強(qiáng)烈愛好
舉例：the girl's fascination with television programms worried her parents very much. 那小女孩迷上了電視節(jié)目，父母大為擔(dān)憂。

5.connection
n.連接，聯(lián)系；連接物
舉例：The connection between the radiator and the pipe has become loose. 汽車水箱與管道之間的連接件已經(jīng)松動。

6.falsification [falsif = to falsify 竄改，偽造；-ication →]
n.竄改，偽造
舉例：The falsification of the will was not discovered for three months. 過了三個月才發(fā)現(xiàn)遺囑被竄改。
