“Way” 短語講解

高三課文中有這樣一句話：“Silk from China found its way over land along the Silk Road to India, the Middle East and Rome...”，句中 “find its way ” 表示 “to reach someplace by discovering the right way to get there”。這裡運(yùn)用了擬人手法。把silk比擬做有思想的人，主動地尋找自己的路線，顯得生動有活力。全句可譯爲(wèi): “中國的絲綢沿著絲綢之路到達(dá)印度?中東和羅馬……”。英語中有許多含有way的短語，生動形象，意味深長，具有漢語達(dá)不到的傚果，值得品味：

① make one's way: The team slowly made their way through the jungle.

這一隊(duì)人艱難地行走在叢林中。

② push one's way: He pushed his way through the crowd.

他推開人群擠出去了。

③ lose one's way: He lost his way in the big city.
